Why See a Prosthodontist?

A prosthodontist is a dentist who has completed an additional three to four years of postgraduate education, after dental school, at an ADA-accredited residency program. It is one of twelve specialties recognized by the National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards.

Prosthodontists provide a wide range of services pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment planning and rehabilitation of oral function, comfort and appearance. More simply stated, we provide treatment to address missing and broken teeth as a result of gum disease, decay, tooth grinding, traumatic oral injuries or oral cancer surgery.

Prosthodontists with board certification have successfully completed the multi-part examination process conducted by the American Board of Prosthodontics, demonstrating knowledge and skills in the specialty, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
