Jim Emerson

Dr. Emerson is a board-certified prosthodontist, practicing in Sequim, Washington since 2007. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley majoring in Zoology. His Doctor of Dental Surgery was received from the University of California, San Francisco in 1970. After graduation, Dr. Emerson served as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps, honoring a 2 year commitment. For the following eleven years he practiced general dentistry.

In 1983, Dr. Emerson and his family moved to Los Angeles to pursue postgraduate training in prosthodontics. He received a certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics from West Los Angeles VA hospital in 1985, and his certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics from UCLA in 1986. That same year he received his board certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics.

For the next 20 years, Dr. Emerson conducted a private practice limited to prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics in Monterey, California. With plans to retire in 2006, he and his wife moved permanently to Sequim. Plans to work one day a week at the Jamestown Dental Clinic in Sequim eventually became a full time position. In 2014, building on his local reputation, he returned to private practice. For the past eight years he has conducted a practice limited to prosthodontics within an oral surgery office.

Dr. Emerson is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and Olympic Peninsula Dental Society.

Married in 1973, Dr. Emerson and his wife Barbara are proud parents of a son and daughter, their spouses, and four grandchildren.
